Independent Governance Group (IGG) has appointed Tim Giles as trustee director and Luke Wilcox as associate director.

These appointments are part of a wider expansion which also sees three new assistant associates joining the company.

Giles has 30 years’ experience in the pensions and investment industry and is a former head of investment at Aon. In this role he was responsible for the firm’s investment consulting and fiduciary management business in the UK and EMEA, and as part of this role was CEO of Aon Investment Ltd.

Wilcox joins from The Pensions Regulator were worked for 14 years in a number of leadership roles spanning functions in regulatory compliance and market oversight. While working at TPR he established and led the first dedicated team responsible for regulating the funding of all DB occupational pension schemes under Part 3 Pensions Act 2004, before becoming a founding-member of the senior leadership team of TPR’s enforcement directorate.

The three new assistant associations joining IGG are Gerson Portugues, Jack Pearce and Kymani Watson-Samuels.

As a result of these latest appointments IGG, which runs pensions trusteeship and governance services, now comprises over 200 pensions professionals based across four UK offices.

IGG CEO Andrew Bradshaw says these appointments will help the firm continue to meet the needs of an ever increasing number of schemes. “We’re committed to providing a comprehensive and holistic skillset as trustees, and these appointments reflect our commitment to attracting and retaining the very best talent.”
