William Jackson has been appointed as an independent director to the board of infrastructure specialists IFM Investors.

IFM Investors is owned by 15 Australian ‘superannuation’ pension schemes, and in 2025 Nest became the first overseas provider to be a co-owner of this manager.

Jackson is the founder and former chief executive of Bridgepoint Group, a global alternative investment firm listed on the London Stock Exchange.

He is chair of the Lawn Tennis Association, and has previously served as chair of Pret A Manger, president of the Board of MotoGP, and chair of Wellington College Education. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director of Berkeley Group and as senior independent director of both British Land and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

Jackson succeeds Carol Gray, who has completed her tenure after 10 years of service.

Cath Bowtell, chair of IFM Investors, says: “William’s experience in global investing, governance and leadership, combined with his strategic insight, will be invaluable as IFM continues to grow as a global private markets leader, focused on investing, protecting and growing the long-term retirement savings of working people.”

In May last year, Nest has made its first major investment through IFM Investors, with a €530m investment (around £450m) to seed a new infrastructure debt fund.
