Bupa has launched a range of new benefits aimed at improving employee wellbeing as part of its SME health insurance offering, with new wellbeing benefits.

It includes new preventative health, mental health and primary care services designed to help employers manage absence levels and support workforce health more effectively.

SME health insurance customers will be able to access dental care through more than 360 Bupa Dental Care practices, face-to-face GP appointments at Bupa health centres and preventative health support, including DNA testing for conditions such as breast cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Additional features include cancer and mental health cover, digital and in-person healthcare access through Connected Care, physiotherapy and primary care pathways, health helplines, neurodiversity coaching support and online policy management services for employers.

Bupa has also introduced enhanced mental health support, including access to Members First talking therapies without excess or co-payment charges, alongside employee engagement platform JAAQ at Work.

Bupa UK director of product and proposition Dan Sullivan says: “Small businesses are under pressure right now. With sickness absence at record levels, even one person being off can have a big impact. That’s why SMEs need healthcare that works harder for their business – helping people stay well, get support earlier and return to full health sooner, improving productivity and growth.

“SMEs need to compete with large corporates on benefits. By strengthening our SME health insurance offering, we’re bringing together something genuinely distinctive – from being the only UK insurer to include dental care as standard, to leading the market on preventative health. Combined with our cancer cover, the most comprehensive mental health support and connected care pathways, it gives small businesses a high-quality, competitive package to attract and retain great people.”
