PHC will continue to operate independently and maintain its intermediary and client support services from its Rickmansworth base.
Axa PPP says the acquisition makes it able to present an alternative platform to provide intermediaries with specialist, tailored and differentiating health insurance services for their clients.
PHC managing director John Stafford, who has held the post for the past 20 years, is to retire within a few months. He will be succeeded by Nye Jones, who has 30 years experience working for Guardian, Axa PPP, Partnership Assurance and Bupa.
Stafford and Jones will be spending the next few months working to effect a transition of the business’ leadership.
