First Actuarial has appointed Claire Fuller and Robert Hurst to be co-heads of administration as it seeks to digitise this function.

The company says this joint appointment signals that First Actuarial is ready for the new era of digital scheme administration, with an increasingly regulatory focus on data quality and guidance,  given the ongoing development of  pensions dashboards.

Both Fuller and Hurst worked in pensions administration throughout their career.

Fuller previously worked for 16 years at Xafinity where she worked in systems and data analysis. Prior to this she held roles at Towers Watson (formerly Swiss Life) and Pearson Publishing. She joined First Actuarial in 2013, rising to the position of head of pensions administration systems prior to this latest appointment.

Robert Hurst has worked for Aon before joining First Actuarial in 2020 to be its process manager.  He has also worked for Kerr and Company (now Broadstone) and started his career at Capita.

First Actuarial says the two have interconnected skillsets, which will enhance the firm’s administration function.

Both Fuller and Hurst and are actively involved in PASA (Pensions Administration Standards Association), working with colleagues across the industry on standards for process and data quality in pensions administration.

Fuller says: “Scheme administration at First Actuarial is known to be exceptionally member-focused and we’ll be looking to build on that strength while making the most of the latest technologies and industry initiatives which are advancing at pace.”
