Cash plan provider Health Shield has joined the industry body Group Risk Development (Grid).
The friendly society said this to help increase industry collaboration and ensure that sufficient consideration is given to smaller employers alongside larger corporates.
It said that with the responsibility for employee wellbeing increasingly falling to the employer, there was a greater need for the industry to collaborate on a range of issues.
Health Shield is a friendly society and offers a range of preventative health and wellbeing options in the corporate market, including health screening and occupational health, alongside its cash plan.
Health Shield’s head of product and marketing Jennie Doyle says: “Joining Grid demonstrates our commitment to working in partnership with other industry experts to ensure the growth and sustainability of preventative health solutions for UK businesses.”
She adds: “We are dedicated to helping shape the group sector by designing early intervention wellbeing solutions that are accessible to the entire workforce, not just senior management – however big or small the organisation.
“We often find that smaller organisations are no less keen to support their staff but need extra help in doing so. We hope that by joining Grid we can champion their cause in ensuring that the industry works together to provide suitable products for all employers – no matter what their demographic.”
Grid chairman Steve Bridger says: “We very much welcome Health Shield’s approach to Grid membership and look forward to their contribution in developing ways that we as an industry can work together for the good of all employers and employees. The addition of a non-profit-making friendly society, will also bring another interesting perspective to the debate.”
