JLT is planning to launch its own online benefits platform, JLT On Line, with Carlton and the team which comprises Charlie Carrick, Jennifer Yates, Nick Harris, Arun Deshpande, Neil Pickering and Pete Whittington.

The team will move over once their notice periods have been served. Nick Burns, director of Thinc Group with responsibility across consultancy services since April will take over the day to day management of Orbit with Peter Gray, chief executive of SBJ Benefits Consultants.

The Axa-owned company says its first priority is to reassure staff and clients, and will be looking to fill vacancies through the promotion of Orbit staff as well as staff from across the group.

JLT says its ownership of Profund gives it the technical development capability to build the online platform and the Orbit team will give it the management to lead the business. and#160;

Duncan Howorth, managing director of JLT says: “Our research has identified that clients will increasingly look for online communication and benefit management solutions in the future, with pensions and benefits following the way of insurance and banking in providing the online facilities to enable employees to maximise their options and objectives.

“Our platform will have two purposes; it will form the basis of an online benefits system through which we will deliver advice and procurement services as well as administration services; and secondly, technology that can be licensed and implemented into employer organisations and product providers. We will be developing our platform for UK and international markets, enabling JLT offices around the world to develop employee benefits services using modern technology in line with JLT Group plans.”

Burns says: “We wish them all the best and hope they make a success of it. They have built a good business here and we will now be taking it to the next level. We will be looking internally to fill these vacancies as there is a lot of talent in this organisation and opportunities for people to step up.”
