Marsh has appointed Daniel Godfrey to the board of trustees and investment committee of Now:pensions.
Godfrey will support the Now:pensions trustee board in providing independent governance and ensuring the master trust continues to act in members’ best interests while delivering strong long-term retirement outcomes.
He brings almost 40 years’ experience across the pensions and investment management sectors, with a longstanding focus on improving consumer outcomes, promoting responsible investment and raising advice standards.
Godfrey is chair of the FCA’s advisers’ sustainability group and also serves on the Legal & General independent governance committee.
Godfrey joins chair Segars and five fellow trustee board members: Adrian Kennett (Dalriada Trustees), chair of the operations committee; Ed Jones, chair of the audit, risk & compliance committee; Gary Smith, chair of the investment committee; Tracy Weller, chair of the communications committee and Daniel Godfrey, who also serves on the investment committee.
Now:pensions chair of trustee Joanne Segars OBE says: “Daniel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from across the pensions and investment industry. His expertise will be invaluable as the pensions landscape continues to evolve, helping to further strengthen the Trustee Board’s governance and support our focus on delivering the best possible retirement outcomes for our members.”
Godfrey says: “Joining the Board is an opportunity to contribute to the oversight of a large-scale master trust with a strong commitment to financial inclusion. I was particularly drawn to now:pensions’ focus on extending good pension outcomes to employees who have historically been underserved. I look forward to supporting its decision-making and governance responsibilities while helping to shape its continued development.”
