Mercer boosts global leadership team

Mercer has boosted its global leadership team with the appointment of Niall O’Sullivan as global solutions chief investment officer. 

O’Sullivan previously worked for Mercer for more than a decade, previously holding the role of chief investment officer for its outsourced CIO business for Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Overall he has 30 years’ experience managing global investment portfolios and programmes, most recently serving as CIO, multi-investment strategies at Neuberger Berman. 

In this new role he will be responsible for harnessing Mercer’s investment capabilities, and intellectual capital to manage clients’ global investment strategies. He will be based in Dublin and oversee the individual CIOs for the US, Canada, EMEA and Pacific regions. 

This follows two other recent senior appointments. Michael Brand joined Mercer as global head of real assets in February while David Boatwright who joined as global investments head of technology strategy last year.

O’Sullivan says he was pleased to be rejoining the company. “Mercer’s holistic expertise across public and private market asset classes and strategies, coupled with our exceptional talent and diverse leadership, positions us well to deliver superior investment outcomes for our clients,” he said.
