Smart appoints Phillip Bretnall as senior adviser  

Smart has appointed Phillip Bretnall as senior adviser. 

Bretnall brings more than 40 years’ experience in global retirement and pensions. His background spans Hong Kong, Australia and the UK, covering senior regulatory, operational and scheme management roles. This includes serving as COO, holding senior posts in outsourced administration and working at The Pensions Regulator. He has spent the last eight years in Hong Kong with HSBC, including some time as CEO of HSBC Provident Fund Trustee (Hong Kong) Limited. He has also led HSBC’s global trustee and fiduciary services in the Asia Pacific and overseen pensions governance for ORSO schemes.
