AXA Health International has appointed Melissa Castro as head medical advisor, effective immediately.
The appointment is expected to strengthen clinical leadership across AXA’s international health proposition as the business continues to expand its global healthcare offering.
Castro joins from Allianz Partners, where she spent almost nine years across clinical practice, medical assistance, health insurance and operational leadership. Originally from Mexico and now based in the UK, she brings direct experience of multiple healthcare systems and the needs of internationally mobile customers.
In her new role, she will look to provide senior clinical leadership across AXA Health International, working with colleagues and healthcare partners worldwide to support the development of the company’s international health proposition and strengthen clinical governance.
Sebastian Judez, global head of proposition and medical at AXA Health International, says the appointment reflects the company’s continued investment in clinical expertise as part of its ambition to become the leading global health and employee benefits specialist.
