Canada Life has launched a range of health and wellbeing support services, which will be available to all those using its group insurance platform.
These services, which will be offered at no extra charge, include online GP consultations, second opinion medical services, smoking cessation services, online counselling as well as fitness, diet and mental health support services.
Provided the employer has a policy with Canada Life these can be accessed by all employers and their family members, whether they are covered on one of these policies or not.
These range of services, which is being marketed under the ‘WeCare’ name, is provided via Teladoc Health.
Canada Life says this move is designed to offer additional support, particularly to SME customers during the Covid crisis. These services are designed to be accessed remotely and are available on a 24/7 basis.
Those using its ‘Class’ group insurance platform will have free access to this package until the end of the year.
Canada Life managing director, protection Tim Stoves says: “We don’t know how long people will be isolating in their homes or restricted in their movements but we think this service can really help people right now.”
He says the company initially planned a phased rollout to a limited number of employers but changed their plans after witnessing recent events. “We felt it was only right to offer this service to all our ‘Class’ customers, at a time when it can make a real difference.”
Teladoc Health president, Carlos Nueno says: “Our partnership with Canada Life has allowed us to create a unique programme for employers in the UK, which will provide employees easier access to innovative services supporting their physical and mental health.
“We are confident that the WeCare programme will be a key contributor to the wellbeing of Canada Life customers.”
