Fidelity International has appointed Jon Hutchings as director of business development in its workplace investing division.

Hutchings joins from consulting firm Hymans Robertson, where he had served as the commercial lead for its DC consulting group, to join Fidelity in December 2022. After serving in a variety of sales, proposition development, and DC consulting roles with HSBC and Aon in the past, he now offers more than 30 years of experience to the UK pensions sector.

Hutchings will leverage his comprehensive knowledge of the UK employee benefits industry as part of his job at Fidelity International to forge closer bonds with the company’s key consultant partners and promote the expansion of the Workplace Investing division.

Fidelity International head of workplace distribution Dan Smith says: “We are delighted to have Jon on board. His experience and expertise from within the consultant market will support the development of our strategic partnerships across Fidelity International’s Workplace Investing business. His appointment marks our commitment to strengthening our relationships with consultants as well as our ambition to grow this side of the business, and I look forward to working with him.”

Hutchings says: “This is an exciting time to be joining Fidelity and I’m looking forward to working with our consulting partners to continue to grow our Workplace Investing business in this fast-moving and competitive market. The proposition is excellent and continues to develop in the key areas of investment, service delivery and engagement. Fidelity’s long-term view, global outlook and relationships combine to ensure we are perfectly placed for accelerated growth.”
